Description

Health and Care Research Wales is a national organisation funded by Welsh Government. It provides an infrastructure to support and increase capacity in research and development, runs a range of funding schemes and manages resources to promote and deliver research in Wales.

We aspire to create an environment where the population of Wales is pro-actively engaged with research, putting the citizen at the heart of creating new knowledge and putting new knowledge into practice.

Public involvement in research

  • The Health and Care Research Wales Public Involvement and Engagement Team provides a range of support and guidance for researchers based in Wales.

    We can:

    • help researchers find members of the public to get involved in their research;
    • offer information and guidance on how best to involve the public in research.

    We also support the Involving People Network, which brings together members of the public from across Wales who are interested in working with researchers to improve treatments and care.

    Network members receive:

    • regular opportunities to get involved in research;
    • training to support their involvement in research;
    • regular newsletters, e-bulletins and access to a range of resources.
