Abstract: This report describes the process of developing consumer involvement in primary care research in Nottinghamshire. An evaluation was conducted in parallel with the development of a consumer advisory group and the lessons learnt used to shape the process. The authors draw out key recommendations for others wishing to develop a similar approach.
