Abstract: CHOICE is a five year programme of research funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) which is trying to understand what factors lead people with chronic long term physical illness to access out of hours care and emergency services. The aim of this report is to provide an overview of how the study is progressing with the help of lay representatives and other stakeholders. It provides a summary of researchers’ experiences of working with lay representatives to date, and the aims and outcomes of six CHOICE stakeholder events.
